1989 Dominator GTA

Pete is the current care taker of the famous one of one steel bodied Dominator GTA. This rare Supercar was bult in a short three weeks after a "pedestrian looking" stock Ford Mustang LX rolled into JBA's service bay, an American Super Car rolled out. The Dominator GTA featured wide IMSA-style flares, a shocking '88 Merkur Bright Red paint job, and over 550 angry Horse's emanating from the JBA built and blueprinted 8800 RPM capable 5.0L engine. The original Dominator GTA was developed to compete in high speed shoot-outs as well as help Ford celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

In 1993 the development of the Dominator GTB project had reached the point where JBA was ready to prove to the world that their Dominator was not only the best performance Mustang in the world, but even more boldly- the best performing car in the world. Having already proven itself against the likes of the Callaway Corvette, the RUF Yellow Bird, the Ferrari GTO and the Porsche 959 - the Dominator GTB took on the best Chevrolet, Dodge & the tuning and hot rod world could offer as chronicled in the February 1994 Issue of Motor Trend Magazine.

Founded in 1986 and based in San Diego, California, JBA Speed Shop is a manufacturer of aftermarket parts and high-performance accessories for American Muscle cars. Making waves in the early 80’s, President, and CEO J. Bittle, launched the groundbreaking Cat4Ward header giving 50 Sate legal power and performance to the street driven masses. Along the way the entrepreneur also built a series of high-profile Mustangs including the Dominator GTA Super Car which dominated the competition at the Road and Track High Speed Shootout and the Dominator GTB which took top performance rankings in 4 of six categories in Motor Trends “Tuner Shootout” dominating the New Dodge Viper and Corvette ZR1.
